My passion has always been people. From as long as I can remember I have always loved to talk with people - to understand them, to get to know them, to help them. I love a chat! The fact that I have been fortunate enough to turn my passion into my profession brings me great joy and delight. I feel very grateful.

Approaching my half century, I’ve managed to tick a few boxes – mother, wife, business owner amongst the more notable. But these in essence are just labels and give no hint as to the quality of person I have become, or my journey to this juncture. I believe it’s important to recognise that people aren’t just a collection of labels – every person is unique. An individual’s desires, dreams, hopes, influences, experiences and personal characteristics are exclusively theirs and cannot be replicated. Only when you understand a person’s unique drivers, behaviours and influences can you add value to their journey. At Zelda, we desire and aim to be trusted partners and concern and consideration for the individual is at the centre of all our endeavours. We take the time to get to know you.

 

Fostering and nurturing this philosophy, that every individual is unique and special, at Zelda we don’t just give people labels and tick boxes. Word match is categorically not quality recruitment. Understanding the small, precise details and the finer points and subtleties, and then connecting a person’s drivers and experience, and matching this with a company’s strategy and values, is where we can impact and add value. This is the craft of recruitment and this is how we can benefit people on their career journey and enhance a client’s recruitment experience.

 

So, to embellish on my labels of mother, wife and business owner, perhaps I can share some minutiae – some finer details.

 

Mother – two girls, 8 and 11. Feedback from them to date is reasonably pleasing! I think my performance reviews are weekly, if not daily, at present, so their feedback is usually in real time! Surprisingly they are both pleased I have provided them with relatively firm boundaries and consequences. Teachers, friends and others have commented on their exceptional manners, their willingness to take responsibility for their actions, their compassion and concern for others and their commitment to following the rules and guidelines. Please note they aren’t teenagers yet! They both still like public affection and I get told many times a day how much they love me. Once again, note they aren’t teenagers yet! Oh, and they get a nightly head massage!

 

Wife – twenty years married! We work together, live together and play together! And I do all the cooking!!

 

Business owner – Working with two of the co-founders since 2002 and building a reputation that we are proud of, is a joy and a privilege. In addition, our team at Zelda all personify a set of core values – concern, consideration and honesty.  We all enjoy enduring business relationships and are trusted partners.

 

As I continue my journey into the next half century, I take time to be grateful and thankful. Thank you to all those who have engaged with us here at Zelda Recruitment.
