Zelda has a consistent presence with on-line job boards. On occasion, we will suggest print media as a preferred attraction tool if we believe there is a sound return on the client’s investment.

Social Media

Using LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter takes recruiting back to its grass roots of networking, but for the digital age. At Zelda we couple the latest technology with a very large dose of good old fashioned person to person communication. We just really like to get to know people. We also use social media to get a better insights into potential job candidates which that may not be immediately obvious at interview.

The strategy for sourcing often is multiple prong and concurrent sourcing techniques are required to source the top talent for the candidate pool and the ultimate short list.

 

Zelda consultants have years of experience. We have honed the art of recruitment. We understand the need for a timely outcome and a through and comprehensive process to bring the top talent to the hiring table. The digital age has given us ways to find and engage talent but key word matching and racing to get resumes in front of clients is not a good formula for engaging with, and securing top talent.

 

Our consultants work in consultation with our clients to deliver the outcomes our clients deserve. Our shortlists will be the top talent for the role. Our reputation and brand has been built on our proven delivery. Assessment and Validation

But art and science must come together in recruitment to ensure a valid, thorough, transparent process has been executed to remove as much risk to the process as possible.

 

Interviews

 

Interviews are conducted by consultants in every instance and are a key assessment tool. In their specialist dedicated areas, the responsible consultants will be the professionals conducting the interviews. In selected instances, potential candidates may be interviewed a number of times by our consultants before meeting with our clients. This occurs primarily when a candidate has had an initial general interview (to proactively register with Zelda) and subsequently a role specific interview is necessary.

 

Proactive/general Interview – Before we register any candidate they must be interviewed by our professional consultants. Often this is in our offices, or if, preferred over a coffee in a café. This initial interview connects the candidate to Zelda and our process of engagement begins. General interviewees’ information, desires and requirements are recorded on our database and we nourish and nurture these relationships.

 

Role specific Interview -Targeting top talent is not just about a database search. When our client provides a specific brief, we use multi prong sourcing approach. Interviews are very targeted and behaviour based interviewing techniques are our preferred approach. A structured interview, with specific questions relating to competencies required, is undertaken and the answers assessed and evaluated for selection purposes.

 

In addition, with a role specific brief we may need to proactively approach target potential candidates potential target candidates who are embedded in other organisations.  This requires a slightly more sophisticated approach in the initial instance, as the potential candidate may not have considered themselves a prospect, or contemplated, seeking a new role. Once we have engaged them to be part of the process they are required to be part of a more comprehensive evaluation and assessment.

 

Skype/Facetime Interview – In recent years, technology has enabled boutique agencies, like Zelda, to be locally based but globally connected. The digital age has offered the tools for Zelda to source top talent from anywhere in the world. Offering our clients, a broad global reach results in deep candidate pools from which top talent may be selected.

 

Validation checks

 

Managing and reducing risk to the recruitment process is our highest priority. From the initial candidate connect and significant touch points in the candidate’s job seeking journey, Zelda seeks to validate and verify relevant information. Every relevant element that can be validated is subjected to scrutiny.

 

Qualification checks – At candidate registration, our consultants require candidates to produce original, or authorised documentation to validate qualifications and/or relevant memberships. These are copied and recorded on our database.

Right to work and identification checks – At candidate registration our consultants require appropriate official documentation to be presented (and copied for record keeping purposes) the candidate’s right to work and identification documents.

 

Reference checks – We rigorously check candidate’s work experience by speaking directly to referees to understand candidate work history, strengths and weaknesses and to gain a further insight into the candidates’ capabilities and work style. At Zelda, this is not an administrative procedure. The specialist consultant undertaking the recruitment process personally reference checks the candidate and makes specific enquiries relevant to the proposed role.

 

Two reference checks are performed for each short-listed candidate. Reference checks are verbal and normally take approximately 15 minutes. A transcript of each reference is sent to our client.

 

Skills testing – If relevant we skills test candidates to validate their skill level. This often includes Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.

 

Psychometric and Personality profiles – Upon request Zelda can initiate and co-ordinate psychometric and personality profile testing with our selected external provider. This offering differs according to client requests.

 

Police checks – Local police checks may take up to 3 days and international police checks take significantly longer. These checks are undertaken by request only and are an additional fee.

 

Medical checks – Upon client request we can initiate and co-ordinate appropriate medical checks.
